...let's count our blessings 😊
What has happened this year that has made you smile? Or lifted a weight off of your shoulders? Or perhaps made someone else smile, which in turn made you happy?
In no particular order, a few stand-out things from my 2022 are:
- Finally going to Disney World, Orlando with my family. It was booked before the pandemic hit and, I have to say, it was completely worth the wait. "The most magical place on Earth" really did provide some magical moments.
- Finally getting the chance to celebrate a sibling's birthday by going to a posh Chinese restaurant. Had a fantastic girl's night, drinking the fanciest of cocktails and eating stunning food. Well overdue and we loved every minute.
- Spending time with my nieces, with overnight/over-week stays whilst their parents enjoyed some well-deserved time away. It's crazy how fast they grow and I have absolutely loved chilling with them. I'm one very proud, very happy Aunty.
- Spending more time with my mum and my 2 sisters. With work and everything getting in the way, it's so easy to just WhatsApp each other every now and then. But, this year, we've managed to get together an awful lot for multiple breakfasts, lunches, dinners and coffees. And it's been super.
- Starting this website. A fearful jump into possible ridicule and failure but nonetheless a jump I'm now proud that I made. Yes, admitting I need help and motivation was a big deal. But updating this site and coming up with the various posts to keep it going has been a new and exciting challenge for me and I have wholeheartedly enjoyed the journey thus far.
I could, quite honestly, keep going and listing more things that have made me happy this year. But at the risk of getting boring, or gloating, I will stop at the 5 points here but look back at the rest with a smile on my face.
So let's start the New Year optimistic. Why don't you make a list of what made you smile in 2022? And don't forget, we are striving to better ourselves in 2023 physically, emotionally and mentally. We've got this. I believe in us  😘
